MATERIALS
- (1) 24” brass ring, (1) 18” brass ring, (1) 12” brass ring
- Hot glue gun
- 22-gauge floral wire
- Wire cutters
- Floral Shears
- 1 dried King Protea or Protea Banksia
- 3-4 Magnolia stems
- 3-4 Pampas Grass stems
- 15-20 Bunny Tail stems
- Optional additional florals: 4-5 Eucalyptus stems, Billy Balls or Grevillea
INSTRUCTIONS
- Place the 24”, 18” and 12” brass rings together and hot glue in place. (Be sure the rings are secured together and the glue is dry before beginning Step 2!)
- Lay the glued brass rings down on a flat surface and place florals where you can imagine them going. This will give you a good idea of how everything should be arranged and will look once complete.
- Place your first layer of florals. For this wreath, we had it be the pampas grass to provide the backdrop for the wreath. Cut a 4″ piece of wire and wrap it tightly around the stem of the pampas grass and your wreath where the rings are glued together.
- Once your pampas grass is secured to the wreath, place your Protea at the far end of the wreath, but let a little pampas grass lead the way. Again, cut a 4″ piece of wire and wrap it tightly around the stem of the Protea and your wreath. Repeat this step with the Magnolia stems.
- Stack your Bunny Tails in one hand as if making a bouquet. Make it so that it’s heavier at the top and thins out at the bottom. Place the Bunny Tail bouquet at the end of your floral design where your pampas grass starts. Cut a 4″ piece of wire and wrap it tightly around the stems of your Bunny Tails and your wreath.
- Cleaning it up by cutting away any wire that is sticking out and add any final touches such as additional dried elements - feel free to be creative!
- Hang it securely from your door or above your fireplace. Enjoy!
