Meet the LAB Team: Mollie Windmiller

Simply put, we are lucky to have Mollie as LAB's Creative Director and Owner. She navigates entrepreneurship and leadership with grace and wisdom and we are all better off because we know her.
Without further ado, let's get to know Mollie Windmiller!

1. What does an average day look like for you?
Listening to clients share their story, where they are at with their business, and where they want to go. This is one of my favorite things about my job (when not creating). This conversation allows me to bond with the client and really understand how to best represent their brand through their own ideas and words. I also have Zoom meetings with team members providing thoughts & feedback on projects, I am so grateful that design concepting with team members via Zoom actually works quite well! And, of course, doing the million other things small business owners do in a day to try to stay on track!
2. What is something that might surprise people about you?
I love cutting hair! I cut my own hair for many years, and have been cutting hair since I was in high school. From creating major hair transformations by cutting many inches off all at once to baby’s first haircuts. It’s such a great time to have a moment to catch up with whoever is in the chair. This random hobby / skill(?) certainly came in handy this past year. Let me know if you need a trim!
3. The LAB team is currently working remotely. What does your WFH station look like?
My dining room has never been used more! I have bonded with this room, and perhaps it has become one of my favorite spaces in our home. It has lots of windows - and it’s open and bright which are key components for a great work environment for me. After about a month into the pandemic, I was inspired to revamp the wall in that room that now serves as my backdrop for Zoom meetings. I found some beautiful prints from Golden Rule and framed them for the wall - along with a print my mom gave me from her college art class. Along with that, I hung floating shelves so I have some special pieces on display that I can enjoy on the daily.
4. What is your favorite form of self-care?
Barre Class - Feel the burn! If your legs quiver you know it's working!

6. Outside of work, what do you like to do for fun?
Embrace the Minnesota outdoors in all seasons, enjoy great meals with loved ones (pre/post covid), go to our cabin, and find new adventures with my girls and Brandon, my husband.
