LAB is a team of women with a vision and Erica brings it all to life. She balances client and internal work thoughtfully and skillfully while always leaving room for her own creative endeavors.

Without further ado, let's get to know Erica!

Name: Erica Gloeckler
Title: Designer
Instagram: @ericagracie
Astrological Sign: Virgo
Enneagram: 4 - Individualist & 9 - Peacemaker

1. What does an average day look like for you?

I try to start with yoga or by doing something else active. Then, I settle in with a cup of coffee and my computer. My favorite kind of days are those when I am diving into a branding or illustration project and get to spend hours in my own little world, creating. After work, I try to get outside and spend quality time with my husband and dog. We love to go on walks throughout Northeast Minneapolis and hanging out in Boom Island Park or on a patio at one of the many breweries near us. I'm a night owl, so after dinner I will stay up way too late watching a show, reading, or futzing around on my computer.

2. What is something that might surprise people about you?

I'm a-ok with roughin' it a bit! I spent my college summers working at a summer camp and grew up loving nature. As much as I enjoy getting fancy for a night on a rooftop in the North Loop, I'm an introvert at heart who loves a chill weekend unwinding outside. Later this summer I will be doing a canoe trip in the BWCA. It'll be my first time there! I'm so looking forward to saying goodbye to my phone and computer for a few days and embracing the Great Outdoors.

3. The LAB team is currently working remotely. What does your WFH station look like?

I float around the house. Generally, you can find me in our sunny little office or on the couch. I'll have a candle burning and will be listening to something. I switch between podcasts, audiobooks, and Spotify playlists. By the way, did you know that LAB makes playlists? You can listen to them here! It seems that I accumulate quite a few beverages (coffee, water, tea, more coffee) and snacks as the day goes on, so by 5PM I have several mugs and jars and empty dishes around me. You will also find my loyal companion, Wilder, nearby. Wilder is our 8-month-old puppy who is 110% a Covid Dog. He never leaves my side. :)

4. What is your favorite form of self-care?

Slowing down, yoga, creating for fun & fresh air. This past year has forced me to slow down and I have realized how beneficial this is for my mental and physical health. I feel best when I am in a groove with doing yoga (sculpt or flow) at least a few times a week, and a walk around the block is an instant mood booster for me. Lastly, I have found that as a creative, an important form of self-care is remembering to create stuff for fun and not just for my job, whether that be on my computer or with my hands (drawing, gardening, cooking, etc).

5. What are a few of your favorite local businesses to follow on social media?

@labmpls ;), @goldenrulegallery, @larissaloden@kate.eskuri

6. Outside of work, what do you like to do for fun?

I love exploring local businesses and catching any and all types of live music. On the weekends, I like hiking, reading, and spending time with friends and family. I was born and raised in Green Bay, WI, which means in the fall I watch the Packers play. :)
