5 New Hot Spots for Summer 2022

BY EMMA GEARY - JUNE 23, 2022

Summer is officially here, and these golden evenings simply beg to be spent on a patio sipping cocktails. While our team has a few tried-and-true favorites across the Twin Cities, we always love visiting hidden gems and fresh culinary concepts to shake up our dinner plans.

This season, chefs from across the city are pushing the boundaries of dining experiences and serving up exciting opportunities to both enjoy the outdoors and discover new artists, makers, musicians, and more. Plus, we have a VERY exciting (and highly caffeinated) new project to share!

Here are our 5 most anticipated restaurant openings for summer 2022:

Opening Summer 2022 in Wayzata

From the mastermind chef behind Martina, Colita, and a host of other culinary staples, chef Danny Del Prado is paying homage to his South American roots on Lake Minnetonka. Inspired by the fictional city of Macondo in the famed One Hundred Years of Solitude, this new lakeside spot will feature a unique record lounge with craft cocktails and a massive four-season patio.

Opening late Summer 2022 in the Whittier neighborhood of Minneapolis

The stretch of Nicollet Avenue lovingly called "Eat Street" is getting its very own food hall this summer. From the owners of Bebe Zito and Zen Box Izakaya, this new space will feature six unique food vendors and a host of visiting local businesses. The building is being completely renovated and aims to be a community hub for the Whittier neighborhood.

2 new locations on Eat Street in Minneapolis and in St. Paul, opening Fall 2022

Centro has long been a favorite of our team for their killer margaritas, perfectly-braised tacos, and buzzing patios. We were thrilled to hear there will be two more locations to love, complete with the patios we crave on a sunny afternoon.

Opening in late Summer 2022 in the Uptown neighborhood of Minneapolis

With an emphasis on supporting local artists, this restaurant and mini-golf experience will be filled with games, live performances, rooftop cocktails, and more.

Opening at Loring Corners in July 2022

You heard it here first: Loring Park is getting a new coffee shop! Our team is working closely with the owners of this exciting new concept to create a fresh brand and overall aesthetic for this historic alleyway destination. Stay tuned on our social media--we can't wait to share more with you soon!
