Ever wondered how that home you’re drooling over on Instagram came to life? While many of these projects are brought to life by stellar interior designers, the ones that truly shine are those that have collaboration integrated into the project from the very start. By working together with an innovative builder and architect, you’ll be able to truly make your new home shine.

Today, we’re chatting with the founders of Wix Construction and Design Co. and Haus of Rowe Interiors, who are teaming up for a partnership that is sure to level up the design + build game in the Twin Cities. They explain the importance of collaboration over competition in their industry, and why this type of partnership is so valuable to their clients. We get a peek inside their most recent project, a playful remodel in Minnetonka, where they explain how their collaboration truly brought their client’s vision to life.

If you’ve ever ventured into the home build and design world, you know that there are countless vendors, designers, contractors, and details to keep track of that can make the process…overwhelming. Longer than expected. Out of budget.

As Grant Wickesberg, owner of Wix Construction and Design Co. explains, “When your builder and designer collaborate from the start, it means that much of the work is done at the forefront, helping to alleviate last-minute questions and a scramble for details months after the home is designed.”

“We've always believed in designing spaces that tell the story of our clients. Partnering with Wix Construction allows us to embed our design ethos into the very foundation of the home. It's a dream collaboration for us,” shares Marcelle Timonen and Kate Adamcsek, Co-Founders and Principal Designers for Haus of Rowe.

Without further ado, let’s take a look inside this dream team’s recent collaboration!

“This busy family wanted plenty of storage to hide the mess of an everyday routine. Our design team collaborated with Grant to build these closed lockers with bench seating to not only store those bulky winter coats, but create a truly functional landing space for the end of a long day.” - Kate Adamcsek, Co-Founder of Haus of Rowe Interiors

“Using built-ins strategically throughout the home was key to adding both space and ease. We incorporated built-in bench seating complete with custom wipeable cushion to the window nook adding extra seating and the ability to push the breakfast area into the space creating more floor space for the kitchen.” - Grant, Wix Construction and Design

“By working together to solve the storage challenge, we were able to build and design an innovative feature in the oven’s hood that included storage for a sleek, one-of-a-kind way to keep their kitchen tidy.” - Marcelle, Haus of Rowe Interiors

“The fireplace was challenging due to the angles, and we worked together to find the best design solution. Styling this fireplace after it was built would have been far more difficult, but working with Grant’s team from the start meant that the fireplace could work seamlessly in the space and within the client’s aesthetic.” - Marcelle

“When redoing the staircase, we relied heavily on Grant's expertise to give it a modern look without changing the structure. This solution helped us maintain the home’s historical integrity while aligning with the client’s more modern sensibilities.” - Kate

At the heart of this partnership lies a combined commitment to excellence, innovation, and bringing the highest value possible to their clients. Interested in learning more? Get in touch with their team to help bring your design dreams to life.
