Where In the World Is LAB? A Peek Inside Our Summer Travels

BY EMMA GEARY - JULY 18, 2024

Earlier this month, LAB enjoyed our summer break and used a few days away to travel and soak up the sun with friends and family. Now that we’re back and feeling refreshed and revived, we’re sharing a few favorite moments from our vacation.

Mollie, Founder + Creative Director

Where did you go?
Our family cabin on Lake Blanche.

Who did you travel with?
My parents, sister, my hubby, Brandon, and our two daughters, Lidia & Edie.

Why is this place special to you?
My family has been coming to Lake Blanche for generations. I have watched how magical this place has always been for my dad, and now I feel the same way - it’s that place to unwind and unplug.  All of our neighbors are family or feel like they are. So, it’s not just about the beauty of what being on the lake offers, but the special connections we have with so many people that are there.

What was the best thing you ate on your trip?
My mom makes a French sandwich called a pan bagnat sandwich. It’s on a French loaf of bread loaded with tuna, tomatoes, lettuce, dressing, and so much goodness. It’s one of my favorite lunches to enjoy with a big group, especially in the summertime.

What is your #1 must-pack item for travel?

A trucker hat. It adds both function and style when you are fully embracing cabin life. I wore my Ciao Clare V hat this weekend, and usually bring a few options to have on rotation.

Where did you go?

I traveled across the East Coast. We visited Boston, Nantucket, Connecticut, and the Jersey Shore.

Who did you travel with?

With my family and fiancé, Danny!
Why is this place special to you?

We have been going to the East Coast my whole life, and it holds so many of my favorite memories. It’s one of my favorite places on earth!

What was the best thing you ate on your trip?

We ate at a restaurant called The Proprietors in Nantucket and everything we ate was to die for - but specifically, the naan they served with their hummus!

What is your #1 must-pack item for travel?

I love to always keep a cozy outfit on hand for cuddling up at the end of the day, and of course, my water bottle because I don’t go anywhere without it! I love this one from Bink at Soundwoven Goods.

Emma, Brand + Editorial Manager

Where did you go?

I traveled to Croatia! Specifically, we stayed in Split and on the island of Hvar.

Who did you travel with?

Friends old and new! My best friend Ben and his partner Danny, Ben’s sister, and a few of Danny’s buddies from medical school made for a great crew of 6!

Why is this place special to you?

I’d never been to Croatia, but I quickly fell in love and am plotting my return. The people were so generous and kind, and the scenery truly felt like it came straight from a movie. In fact, the island we stayed on is where they shot most of Mamma Mia!

What was the best thing you ate on your trip?

So. Much. Seafood! We stopped at a winery that is only accessible by boat and I had a lobster pasta that I’ve thought of every day since I returned, made with lobster caught that morning. It was heavenly.

What is your #1 must-pack item for travel?

I’m a big believer in packing cubes to make traveling easy, especially when you’re hopping from city to city. I love these fun pattered ones from Baggu, and have used them often in combination with this pouch set, perfect for toiletries and plane necessities.

So, where to next?! Whether it’s up the street or across the globe, we’re wishing you a wonderful summer travel season! Bon Voyage!
